Recruiting: Kitchen Assistant

Sheldon is a lively place during July and August with many mouths to feed - guests on retreat or holiday and people attending concerts in the open air theatre. 

Our catering team is a friendly mix of resident community members, salaried staff and resident volunteers. We work hard but with lots of variety and plenty of training, support and supervision as needed. This role includes assisting cooks in preparing food, clearing and washing up, and generally keeping the kitchen and associated areas clean and tidy.

The exact days and times will vary a little, but include between 4 and 6 mornings a week (not Sundays) either 9am to 12.30pm or 9.30am to 2pm.

Employed status including 5.6 weeks/year paid holiday (pro-rata). Indicative hourly rate of £11.20 assumes a candidate with reasonable general experience. Higher rate negotiable for someone with catering experience, or lower for a young person's holiday job with more to learn.
