Wondering about joining Sheldon?

Sheldon has successfully navigated the challenges of running a residential resource through the first two years of the pandemic. We have been doing this with a smaller-than-usual team due to the uncertainties, lockdowns etc. Sheldon continues to be busy with guests and thankfully we have been able to stay afloat financially and now  we are ready to grow again! Here are some short interviews to introduce ourselves.We are a versatile team and open to exploring a number of different roles primarily for members of the resident community but some may be possible as salaried members of staff. For all appointments we are looking to share with colleagues who bring an attitude of service and flexibility to the role in the service of our guests. For members of the community there is the twin track of vocation to community life alongside the development of the working role.

Sheldon adopts safer recruiting practices and always takes up references. 

All roles are assessed from a safeguarding perspective. Community members and relevant members of staff are DBS checked.

Community members will necessarily share a Christian faith. Staff members are expected to actively support the ethos of Sheldon's ministry.

Community members are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Accommodation: we have accommodation for singles or couples but not for families

Hours: as Community we work a six day week
