Guidelines for Dogs at Sheldon Retreat

Fully trained assistance dogs (Assistance Dogs UK or other) are always welcome at Sheldon - please tell us in advance about your dog and anything specific you need to make your stay go smoothly.

We are sometimes able to accommodate other dogs in very special circumstances and in this case usually ask for an additional £30 to cover extra cleaning costs.

House rules to take note of when bringing your dog to Sheldon (we know that trained assistance dogs will already be well versed in all this);

  • When out of doors please keep your dog on a lead at all times on Sheldon grounds (unless you have checked for permission to run loose in particular fields)
  • Please pick up after your dog and dispose of in a landfill bin.
  • We prefer you to bring a dog bed for your dog to sleep on the floor. However, to be prepared
    • If your dog sleeps in your bed, bring along your own bed linen and duvet.
    • If your dog sleeps in your chair, bring along chair covers.
  • Please do not bring a dog who barks as this will disturb other guests - sorry, but we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog disrupts other guests.
