Deeper into Life as Beloved

Led by Ian & Gail Adams

An invitation to explore the wonderful insights of 16th century Carmelites saints Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross. The title reflects their confidence in the loving presence of God, and their encouragement to us to journey ever deeper into that love.We sense that their prayerful experience and insights are gifts for each of us, and for our times.

The retreat will offer a spacious mix of teaching, stillness and contemplative prayer, with suggestions for photography and creative attention to the beautiful land and sky-scapes at Sheldon.

Silence will be held from after the evening meal on Monday until after Morning Prayer on Friday. Gail and Ian will lead one session on Monday evening, then two sessions (mid-morning and late afternoon) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each session will comprise teaching, stillness and led contemplative prayer. Ian will also be sharing poems and photographs.

Guests are invited to join the community for Morning Prayer each day, and to a simple evening prayer on Tuesday and Wednesday led by Gail and Ian. There will be a eucharist on Thursday evening.

There will also be the opportunity for some one-to-one conversations with Gail or Ian.
