Staying Sane in an Insane World
Led by SImon Parke
The world can seem mad at times and often intolerable. Jesus would clearly have agreed. He knew societal insanity in his heart and bones every day. So how did he stay sane? It’s a question worth asking; and the answers may both surprise and delight, as we ponder his journey and our own. The sessions will include input, silence and readings from Simon’s Jesus novel, ‘Gospel, Rumours of Love’ which Bishop Rachel of Gloucester called
‘exhilarating and disturbing’.
This is a silent retreat with daily addresses, plus the option of joining the community's daily prayers. There will be "Stone Time" for meditative sharing at the end of each session. Simon will have some 1:1 slots available. Silence will begin after supper on Monday and end before breakfast on Friday morning.
SImon Parke is a therapist and author. He was formerly a priest in the Church of England for twenty years. Link to Simon's website
